Council Bluff police officers were sent to 35 North 1st Street around 1:25 Thursday afternoon after being asked to do a welfare check. The person hadn't been heard from for several days.
Officers found a person dead inside the home. They are investigating this as a suspicious death.
Authorities are not identifying the person at this time. The cause of death is not yet known and an autopsy is planned.
