The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office is calling it's first ever Gun-Ammo-Fireworks Amnesty Day a success. It was held on Saturday at the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office near 84th and Platteview.
The Sheriff’s Office and the Omaha Police Department participated in the four hour event and collected:
- 40 guns (18-handguns, 12-rifles, and 10-shotguns)
- 296 lbs. of assorted ammunition
- 72.5 lbs. of assorted fireworks
The items collected will be safely destroyed.
