A man is in the hospital after a crash and confrontation with Omaha Police Friday morning.
The incident happened just after 10:00 near 64th and Center when officers were called out for reports of a personal injury accident.
Omaha Police say the vehicle overturned onto its side and a woman fled the vehicle for her safety, as the man and woman were reportedly in a domestic dispute at the time of the crash. Following the crash, the woman ran into a nearby restaurant for her safety, as the man climbed onto the side of the flipped SUV.
Police say as they tried to talk the man down, he pulled a knife and began cutting himself. The man was eventually taken into custody after about an hour and transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The incident had traffic on Center Street shut down from 67th to 63rd streets. The investigation continues.
