The Nebraska State Patrol says a 14-year-old boy was killed and three other teens were injured in a rollover crash on I-80 in Lincoln Wednesday morning following a pursuit by Lancaster County Sheriff's deputies.
The crash happened just after 8:00 a.m. when deputies were pursuing a stolen vehicle. The 2003 Chevrolet Trailbrazer was traveling westbound on I-80 when the driver tried to exit onto NW 48th Street. The vehicle rolled and all four occupants were ejected.
One of the passengers, 14 year old Zayne Yost of Lincoln, died at the scene. The three other teens, 16 year old Andrew Fisher, 14 year old Darius Hayes and 15 year old Anthony Moreno were all transported to hospitals and are expected to recover.
Investigators believe Hayes was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. The Nebraska State Patrol has been called on to conduct an investigation.
