Deputy Among Three People Injured In Crash

Omaha Police say a Douglas County sheriff's deputy was one of three people injured in a two vehicle crash near 144th and Corby early Sunday morning.

Investigators say the DCSO cruiser was northbound on North 144th St. when a Chrysler Town and Country attempted to turn left on to Corby Street from the southbound lane when the crash happened.

The 49 year old deputy, Kenneth Paulison, was working a DUI enforcement initiative when the crash happened.  He was taken to CHI Bergan mercy for minor injuries to his face and hand.

The driver and passenger of the minivan were taken to Nebraska Medicine with non-life threatening injuries. According to police both were ejected from the minivan.

The driver, 26 year old Rikki Spencer, had injuries to her face, head and back.  Her passenger, 24 year old Emma Herskind, also had injuries to her face and hand.

Alcohol is being investigated as a factor in the crash.
