Pop Tarts Box Could Land An Iowa Woman In Prison

An Iowa woman has pleaded guilty to trying to smuggle methamphetamine into a prison in a Pop Tart Box.

30 year old Linda Whitlatch is facing up to 15 years in prison.  Investigators say Whitlatch planned to give the box, with more than 5 grams of meth, to an inmate at the Clarinda Correctional Facility, but ended up putting the box into a trash can instead.

Curious jailers checked inside the box and found the meth she had intended to give to an inmate. Whitlatch pleaded guilty to felony charges that include conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and furnishing a controlled substance at a detention facility.
