One Person Killed In North Omaha Crash

A Sunday night crash in North Omaha has claimed the life of one person.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office say deputies were called out to the scene near 63rd and McKinley just after 7:00. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic was eastbound on McKinley when it crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2016 Toyota Highlander.  The driver of the Chevrolet Sonic, 48 year old Rhonda Harnett of Omaha, died at the scene.  A passenger in her vehicle was transported to Nebraska Medicine for treatment of his injuries.  

The driver of the Toyota Highlander, 36 year old Jodi Bierman of Blair, was transported to Nebraska Medicine with minor injuries.  Two children in the back seat of the Highlander were also transported to and are currently receiving treatment. 

The investigation into the crash continues.
