Woman Killed In Single Vehicle Crash In Midtown

A 64 year old woman was is dead after police say she lost control of her vehicle late Friday night.

Omaha Police say just before midnight, officers were called to the area of 36th and Dodge for a single-vehicle crash. During the investigation, authorities determined that a red 2006 Ford Escape, driven by 64 year old Nancy Lee, was eastbound on Dodge Street when it left the roadway to the south, striking a guy wire. The SUV re-entered the roadway before again drifting back off the roadway at 37th and Dodge. 

The vehicle struck a concrete wall, then rolled, colliding with landscaping and artwork in front of 3615 Dodge St. The SUV continued to roll until it came to rest near 36th and Dodge.

Lee was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene.
