Omaha Police are on the hunt for a suspect who was armed with a flare gun when he attempted to carjack a woman early Wednesday morning.
Authorities say around 12:15, the man tried to carjack the victim while she sat in her vehicle near R St and T Plaza. The woman told officers that she saw the man get dropped off about half a block away. He then walked around a snow bank, went up to her driver's side window and demanded the car.
The suspect shot off the flare gun twice, with the first shot breaking the driver's side passenger window and the second setting the seat on fire. The fire eventually went out on it's own and the suspect took off on foot.
