The winter weather has arrived in the metro area. Sleet mixed with rain started around 9:30 this morning. The snowy mix started about a half hour later.
Omaha Police and Omaha Fire and Rescue are responding to a number of accidents reported around the metro.
Omaha police are currently on accident alert and responding to only injury accidents or where cars cannot be moved.
Drivers are asked to use extra care. It is slow going in the western part of Douglas County due to the precipitation.
Those needing to travel should wait until the mixed precipitation moves through and road conditions are more back to normal.
