Two In Custody Following Incident At Fremont High

Two boys are in custody following an incident at Fremont High School Thursday afternoon. It began around 4:00 when authorities got a report of someone with a gun at the school.  No one was injured and the Nebraska State Patrol posted on Twitter that there was no active shooter.

Someone called 911 because they believed they had seen someone display a gun in a hallway. Police Chief Jeff Elliott says two suspects, both reportedly teenagers, have been taken into custody.  One of them was armed.  The type of weapon and whether it was real is not yet known.

Authorities placed the school in lockdown as they searched the building.  The nearby YMCA was also placed on lockdown.   The two people taken into custody were found around 6 p.m.  The investigation into exactly what happened continues.
