The Nebraska State Patrol made two separate traffic stops and found a total of 79 pounds of marijuana.
On November 18th, troopers received a report that a Chevrolet Impala was speeding and weaving between lanes on I-80 near North Platte. A NSP K9 sniffed out 49 pounds of high grade marijuana that was packed in luggage. The driver, 27 year old Doreen Cahill of Jacksonville, North Carolina was arrested on several charges.
The delay in the release of information was due to an ongoing investigation.
State troopers made a second stop on I-80 Monday near Maxwell after the driver of a Chevrolet Equinox failed to signal. The trooper became suspicious and conducted a search and found 30 pounds of high grade marijuana. Both the driver and a passenger were taken in for questioning.
Following the interviews, the driver was released. The 17 year old passenger from California was booked on several drug charges.
