168th Street Now Open Between Dodge & Maple

Good news for drivers in northwest Omaha.  168th Street traffic is on the move again between Dodge and Maple.

The street had been closed for nearly a year for a widening project.  Crews installed the truss for the light signals about two weeks ago at Blondo.

City officials say the project improves safety, capacity and decreasing peak hour congestion.  According to the City Traffic Engineer through the spring of 2019, various off-peak lane restrictions will be necessary between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to allow completion of remaining minor work activities by Hawkins Construction.
