Crash Knocks Out Power In Beaver Lake

Cass County authorities say a 17 year old driver from Omaha knocked out the power in Beaver Lake following a rollover crash around 1:15 Wednesday morning.

The sheriff's department says the teen driver control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the roadway and end up in a ditch. The vehicle rolled and came to a rest on its top. The vehicle struck a wire to the power pole causing it to snap.

All power was knocked out to Beaver lake.  When deputies arrived there was no one in the vehicle. While deputies were investigating, the teenager approached and advised them he was the driver of the vehicle.

He was transported to Nebraska Medicine with non-life threatening injuries. Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors to the accident.  Charges are pending.
