Pedestrian Struck By Car May Have Been Intoxicated

One person was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car when crossing the street Saturday night.

Police said that 39 year old Erick Saner was crossing Dodge Street near 72nd when he was hit by a westbound car. He was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Saner was taken to Bergan Mercy with possible serious injuries to his face, hands and shoulder. His injuries are not considered life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the man showed signs of intoxication and charges are pending.

The driver of the car, 17 year old Taurus Dismuke was cited for not having a learner's permit and operating the vehicle. The passenger, and owner of the car, Gregory Austin was cited for no proof of insurance.
