Eppley Airfield Announces Two New Direct Flights From Omaha

Omaha's airport has announced two new nonstop flights for travelers flying out of Eppley Airfield. 

Southwest Airlines will begin daily nonstop service between Eppley and San Diego International Airport beginning Sunday, June 9, 2019. The schedule for the new San Diego service by Southwest is as follows:

  • San Diego to Omaha  
    • Depart: 9:05 AM    Arrive: 2:10 PM
  • Omaha to San Diego
    • Depart: 4:00 PM    Arrive: 5:10 PM 

Southwest Airlines will also begin seasonal nonstop service on Sundays between Eppley and Nashville International Airport beginning Sunday, June 9, 2019. The schedule for the new seasonal Nashville service by Southwest is as follows:

  • Nashville to Omaha 
    • Depart: 1:00 PM    Arrive: 2:50 PM
  • Omaha to Nashville 
    • Depart: 7:20 PM    Arrive: 9:05 PM 

Southwest Airlines will fly these new routes with a Boeing 737 aircraft seating between 143 and 175 passengers. San Diego and Nashville will become the eleventh and twelfth nonstop destinations Southwest will serve from Omaha. Southwest currently provides daily nonstop service to Chicago (MDW), Dallas (DAL), Denver (DEN), Houston (HOU), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAX), Phoenix (PHX), St. Louis (STL), and Washington D.C. (DCA) from Omaha. Southwest also provides seasonal service to Orlando (MCO).

Steve McCoy, Manager of Airline Affairs for the Omaha Airport Authority says, “The Omaha Airport Authority is excited to see Southwest Airlines continued growth in this community with these new nonstop flights. Southwest has more than doubled their number of nonstop destinations from Omaha in the last five years which is a testament to passenger demand in Omaha driven by the strong local economy. Both San Diego and Nashville are popular destinations from Omaha for leisure and business travelers alike.”
