Bayliss Park Holiday Lighting Ceremony Set For Thursday

Council Bluffs is ready to get the holiday season started.  On Thursday night the Bayliss Park holiday lighting event will be held.

Last year more than 4,000 people attended Winterfest at Bayliss Park.  With mild temperatures in the forecast another large crowd is expected for this year's festivities, which run from 5:30 to 8:00.

More activities have been added to make the event bigger and better this year.  The lighting ceremony will take place at 6:00 as Santa Claus and mayor Matt Walsh lead the countdown for the lights to come on.  An Iowa West Foundation grant has resulted in more lights being added this year.

Other activities scheduled for Thursday night:

  • Food Truck Food Court
  • Makers Village
  • Santa's Workshop
  • Live Reindeer
  • Art Activities
  • Outdoor Movie: Frosty The Snowman
  • Free Hot Chocolate/Hot Chocolate Backpacks
  • Traveling Carolers
  • Balloon Artist
  • Face Painters
  • Festive Photo Opportunities
