Bellevue City Council Shuts Down Proposed Pay Raise

At Tuesday night's Bellevue City Council meeting a proposed pay raise for elected officials was shut down by councilors.

Councilman Pat Shannon had proposed a $6,000 increase to go into effect December 10th for council members and the mayor, but that was voted down.

Some council members said waiving rules for proper readings isn't right, and the increase isn't necessary. The next time the issue can be brought up is in two years.
