First responders in the Omaha metro area will be honored Sunday at Salem Baptist Church at 31st and Lake Street. All law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMS personnel are invited to a Blessing of the Badge ceremony at 11:30. The public is also invited to attend.
The event is hosted by Salem Baptist Church, the Black Police Officer's Association, Omaha Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, African-American Correctional Officers Association and the Omaha Association of Black Professional Firefighters.
