Teen Pleads No Contest To Homicide Charge

A fourteen year old will face sentencing in January after pleading no contest to a charge of Second Degree Murder.

In court on Thursday, Tyon Wells changed his plea from not guilty to no contest in the death of seventeen year old Zachary Parker.

Parker was shot to death in February in what prosecutors say was a marijuana deal gone bad. Police say on February 25th, Wells fired three shots into a moving car after the drug deal broke down. Parker was fatally injured, white another seventeen year old in the car was also injured.

In exchange for the No Contest plea, other charges were dismissed. Prior to the plea deal, Wells had been facing trial as an adult.

He is scheduled for sentencing in January.
