You will start seeing bell ringers around the metro area as the Salvation Army kicks off it's 2018 Tree of Lights Campaign.
This year’s fundraising goal for the campaign is $2.85 million. On Thursday night the 75-foot-tall Tree of Lights was lit up at 90th and Dodge.
The Salvation Army’s red kettles will be placed at 140 locations in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro from through Dec. 24. Volunteer bell ringers can sign up online at www.registertoring.com or by calling 402-898-6000. People can also give to the Tree of Lights Campaign online at www.salarmyomaha.org.
