Tom Osborne's Younger Brother Killed In Weekend Crash

The younger brother of famed former Husker head coach Tom Osborne was killed in a weekend crash just west of Hastings. The Adams County Sheriff's Office says 78 year old John C. "Jack" Osborne died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night.

Investigators say just before 8:00, Osborne was southbound on Juniata Avenue when he failed to yield at a stop sign on Highway 6. Osborne's vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle driven by 19 year old Dariana D. Burr, of Juniata. Burr was not seriously injured in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Osborne was a 1963 graduate of Hastings College, the CEO of Industrial Irrigation and was inducted into the Hastings College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990.
