The Douglas County Sheriff's Department says one of their deputies escaped serious injury after being involved in a two vehicle crash at 156th and West Maple around 7:00 Monday morning.
Investigators say the deputy was northbound on 156th Street when the driver of a westbound car ran a red light and and struck the deputies vehicle. The impact caused the deputy to hit a third vehicle.
The sherIff's department tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB the deputy was taken to a doctor to be checked out, but he did not suffer serious injuries.
Omaha Police are still investigating the crash.
