An eleven year old boy was injured after being struck by a hit and run driver near a Lincoln elementary school.
Lincoln Police say just before 8:00 Thursday morning, officers were called out for a reported hit and run near Culler Elementary School. An eleven year old student told officers that he was walking to school, headed westbound, when he saw a car approaching the stop sign at 54th and Vine St. The car slowed down so the victim proceeded to cross the street. The vehicle turned eastbound onto Vine and struck the victim.
The boy said he knew the driver was aware they collided because they looked at one another for several moments before the driver left the scene. The vehicle was described as an orange sports car and possibly had black stripes. The driver was described as a white male in his late 20's with black hair, jelled in a comb over fashion.
The boy was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
