Ground Broken On New Elkhorn High School

Elkhorn Public Schools have officially started a new chapter with the groundbreaking of their newest school. On Sunday, ground was broken on Elkhorn North High School near 180th and West Maple.

At the groundbreaking, Superintendent Bary Habrock thanked the community for approving a $150 million bond back in March. Habrock says the new building should ease overcrowding and offer more opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular activities. "We know when students are engaged in school life they do better. And today we thank our community for supporting the need for a third high school. We celebrate the beginning of our construction

The school will be modeled after Elkhorn South and is scheduled to open for the 2020 school year.
