Thieves Arrested After Stealing Truckload Of Halloween Decorations

Five men are behind bars after making off with a truckload of Halloween decorations in Council Bluffs. 

Council Bluffs Police say around 12:30 Friday morning, a Council Bluffs Police officer on patrol stopped a suspicious truck circling the 3100 block of Avenue E for a traffic violation. The truck bed was full of Halloween decorations with five teens inside the cab.The suspects were cooperative, admitted the items were stolen, and pointed out two residences that Halloween items were stolen from prior to the stop. 

Two victims were identified, and their items, valued at $350, were returned. The residences of seven other items could not be located and the Council Bluffs Police Department’s Property Section is in possession of these items and is in the process of trying to locate the proper owners.

The five suspects, all between the ages of eighteen and nineteen, were arrested and charged with Third Degree Theft. All five are individually being held on $2,000 bond.
