October Snowfall Leaves Thousands Without Power

Extra OPPD crews are on the job as heavy, wet, snow continues to fall across the metro area Sunday afternoon.

As of 2 p.m. more than 43,000 customers were without power in Douglas and Sarpy counties.  Trees are getting weighed down by the wet snow and are coming into contact with power lines, causing the outages.

Several intersections are also without power, so drivers should use extreme caution due to the traffic signals being out.
