Police Identify Driver Killed In West Omaha Crash

Omaha Police have identified the driver killed in one vehicle crash near 192nd and Pacific Friday morning. Investigators say 17 year old George Gervase of Omaha was southbound on 192nd Street around 6:30 a.m. 

"A single vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed lost control and left the roadway to the east, struck a wooden power pole," Sergeant Jason Menning says.  "There was one occupant in the vehicle, we believe it's a young adult, male."

Menning says Gervase was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was a junior at Elkhorn High School.  A district spokesperson says they had crisis counselors on had Friday afternoon and they will be at the school all day Monday as well.
