North Platte Man Facing Attempted Murder Charges After Scuffle With Cop

A North Platte man is behind bars for attempted murder after sending an officer to the hospital following a scuffle with police.

Authorities say Thursday morning, Officer Alexander Parker responded to a break-in at a home and found 27 year old Walterio Seabrooks inside. When Officer Parker attempted to detain Seabrooks, an altercation ensued and police say Seabrooks repeatedly tried to take Parker's firearm from the holster. Seabrooks was eventually subdued, but not before biting and punching Officer Parker.

Parker was taken to the emergency room for treatment, but he is expected to recover.

Seabrooks was taken to the Lincoln County Detention Center where staff found him in possession of marijuana. He's facing charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder, Resisting Arrest, Second Degree Criminal Trespassing and Possession of Marijuana.
