Man Accused Of Groping Clerk During Lincoln Robbery

A 36 year old man has been arrested after stealing cigarettes and groping a convenience store clerk Thursday night.  Police say it happened at about 9:40 p.m. at the Kwik Shop near North First Street and Cornhusker Highway.

The clerk told police an intoxicated man came in the store and went behind the counter to take a pack of cigarettes.  The clerk told him to step back from the counter.  At that point she said the man grabbed her left breast over her clothes.

She struck him in the face and he pushed her into the counter before grabbing a pack of cigarettes and leaving.  Officers spotted a vehicle matching the description the clerk gave driving near the Kwik Shop without its headlights on.

The officer stopped Timothy Bowie and found the pack of cigarettes on the floorboard.  Police cited him for robbery, third-degree sexual assault and aggravated DUI.   Police say Bowie's blood alcohol level was .234, nearly three times the legal limit
