Schools Placed On Lock Down During Police Pursuit

A number of schools were placed under lock down Wednesday morning after a police pursuit.

The pursuit reportedly began in Council Bluffs and continued into Omaha before police took one person in custody. Officers were searching for another suspect possibly involved in the pursuit.

Omaha Public Schools officials say Central High School, Kellom Elementary, Yates Elementary, Blackburn High School, Jackson Elementary, Liberty Elementary School and the Career Center were all placed under lock down during the pursuit.

Pottawattamie County law enforcement said the chase began around 8:00 with Omaha police joining in once the reportedly stolen vehicle got off the interstate near 20th and Cass streets.

No injuries were reported.
