Shoplifting Citation Leads To Big Trouble For Lincoln Man

Things went from bad to worse for a Lincoln man who was cited for shoplifting Monday night.  Officers responded to a Walmart and cited and released 43 year old Robert Wiley for shoplifting.

While issuing the citation, the officer learned Wiley’s license was suspended. As the officer was leaving the store when he  Wiley driving away. Knowing that Wiley’s license was suspended, the officer initiated a traffic stop. 

Wiley admitted he had a concealed rifle in the vehicle. Wiley was a felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm so he was taken into custody. Wiley's vehicle was searched and suspected methamphetamine was also found. 

Wiley was arrested for felon in possession of firearm, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, driving on a suspended license, no insurance and no valid registration.
