The boyfriend of a Lincoln mother of five has been arrested in connection to her early September shooting.
On Monday, Lincoln Police arrested 27 year old Rashaun Jones for the shooting Davonnis Wilkinson on September 9. Jones was arrested for First Degree Assault and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, with police confirming that they found the gun used in the shooting in a storm drain.
Wilkinson remains in the hospital in critical condition. She is expected to recover from her injuries but police said she will have significant functional disability.
The County Attorney will determine if any other charges will be filed. Police said charges depend on the suspect's intent at the time of the shooting.
Investigators believe Jones shot Wilkinson during an argument at Fairfield West Apartments, near 3rd and Fairfield Street. Jones was arrested at the scene of the shooting for domestic assault.
