The Iowa State Patrol says a two vehicle crash Sunday evening in Mills County killed an Omaha woman and injured five others, including two children.
The crash happened near Mineola shortly before 6 P.M. Investigators say 51 year old Heather Johnson was westbound on Barrus Road when her Honda Accord ran a stop sign at 221st Street.
Johnson's car was broadsided by a southbound Chevy Silverado sending both vehicles rolling into a field. The crash killed 33 year old Iris Gandara of Omaha. Johnson and a man from Florida were airlifted to Nebraska Medicine.
Three other people, 27 year oldf Mariana Nieto of Omaha, and a six and ten year old from Glenwood, Iowa were also sent to Omaha hospitals. The investigation into the crash continues.
