For years, Omahans Bill and Evonne Williams have sponsored "Honor Flights" from Omaha to Washington D.C. for veterans of the uniformed military.
Today's trip is a little different: the first ever "Nebraska Female Veterans' Flight" left Eppley Field this morning.
Travelling with the vets is actress Loretta Swit of "M*A*S*H TV fame. She spoke to 700 people last night at a dinner honoring the women who served.
When they land in our nation's capital, the women will visit ten memorials before flying back to Omaha this evening for a heroes' welcome.
