Cass County authorities say one person has died after being hit on Interstate-80 near the Greenwood interchange early Sunday morning.
Sheriff Bill Brueggeman said the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-80 near mile-marker 423 around 2:30 a.m.
A pedestrian is believed to have walked in front of a vehicle and was hit in a traffic lane. The driver of the vehicle called 911 to report the incident.
Deputies are conducting the coroner's investigation, and the Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the accident. The sheriff's office said there are no signs of alcohol use or impairment with the driver of the vehicle.
The name of the person killed hasn't been released pending the notification of family.
