Nebraskans Deploy To North Carolina To Aid Victims Of Hurricane Florence

Some of Nebraska's finest are on their way to the east coast ahead of Hurricane Florence.

Members of Nebraska Task Force One hit the road to Raleigh, North Carolina and headed into the storm. The team was activated around 10:30 Monday night in advance of landfall by Florence.

Members say they are "mission ready" for several operations but are especially prepared for water rescues. After being activated Monday night, members worked hard through the overnight hours packing supplies.

Task Force One will travel to Raleigh in five vans, five smaller vehicles, along with other trucks with equipment. Members are unsure how long they'll stay on the east coast because the length of their mission depends on the intensity of the storm.
