Victim Of Overnight Lincoln Shooting Identified

Lincoln Police have identified the woman injured in an overnight shooting. 

Authorities say just before midnight on Sunday, officers were called to the area of 2nd and Fairfield for a report of a shooting. When police arrived they located 25 year old Davonnis Wilkinson, who was breathing but had multiple gunshot wounds to her head. Lincoln Fire and Rescue transported Wilkinson to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There were two adults and three children in the home when officers arrived, including Davonnis. The Criminal Investigations Unit is completing interviews, a neighborhood canvas and analyzing evidence seized so far. A search of the home will be completed by members of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit. This search will continue throughout the day and potentially extend through the week. The investigation remains in the preliminary phase.
