Murder Charges Dropped In Shooting Death Of Army Sergeant

Murder charges have been dropped against a man accused in the shooting death of an Omaha Army Sergeant.

Larry Goynes was facing charges in connection to the murder of Kyle LeFlore in January outside of a Florence lounge, but now he is a free man. Goynes, whom police said was the shooter, was released from jail on Tuesday because of an uncooperative witness.

Jason Devers, who is also accused, will still face murder charges because investigators said there is physical evidence linking him to the crime.

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said his office will do whatever it can to reexamine the case down the road and possibly refile charges against Goynes.
