Omaha firefighters were able to quickly extinguish an early morning kitchen fire in an apartment building. They were called to three story apartment complex near 108th and Harrison around 1 a.m. Tuesday.
There were no smoke or flames when they rolled up. Once inside they found smoke coming from a third floor apartment. Investigators say the fire was caused by food left burning on the stove. No one was injured and one resident was displaced.
The fire caused more than $20,000 in damage.
