Teen Arrested After Crashing Through Fence In Lincoln

A nineteen year old is in trouble with the law following a suspected drunk driving incident.

Lincoln Police say just before midnight on Sunday, officers were called to the area of 6th and Q Streets for a report of a loud crash and someone yelling. Officers located an empty Black 2003 Cadillac Escalade at the end of Q Street. It appeared the vehicle did not stop as it approached the dead end and collided with a wooden barrier.

The vehicle went through the wooden barrier and into a chain link fence on the west side of P Street before continuing into a lot and coming to a rest. The vehicle had approximately $2,500 in damage and caused approximately $1,500 to the fencing and insulation pallet.

Inside the vehicle, officers located beer, vodka, a bloody shirt and a Nebraska ID card for nineteen year old Cristian Chavez inside the vehicle. A short time later, Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Diesel Shop employees reported that an intoxicated person was trespassing at their shop near 8th and O Street.

Officers found Chavez was found shirtless, with blood on his pants and injuries to his chest. Chavez was cited for DUI, Minor In Possession, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Negligent Driving and No Operator’s License.
