Douglas County authorities are investigating the death of 48 year old Carrie Brown, who was found with a gunshot wound inside a house near 189th and L Street around 10:00 Sunday night.
Bellevue Police confirm Brown worked as a civilian employee for the department for over eight years. She started her career as a Front Desk Clerk in 2009 and became an Evidence Technician in 2014.
NewsRadio 1110 KFAB has also learned she shared the home with Craig Wiech, who has been a Bellevue Police officer for 22 years.
Investigators say when they arrived they met with Wiech. Deputies made their way to a bedroom where they found Brown dead from a gunshot wound.
The circumstances leading up to her death are under investigation.
