Investigators Believe Remains Found Are Of Missing Iowa Teen

Investigators in Iowa say they have recovered human remains that they believe are those of a sixteen year old autistic boy who went missing from his small Iowa hometown in April.

the disappearance of Jake Wilson's prompted a search involving multiple law enforcement agencies including the FBI, state and local police officers. Hundreds of volunteers were also involved in the search in La Porte City, in northeastern Iowa.

The teen was last seen on April 7th, when he said he was going for a walk along Wolf Creek, just a few blocks from his home. Wilson's family said he didn't have his glasses on, and that he has the mental capacity of a nine year old.

At a news conference, La Porte City Police Chief Chris Brecher said that the remains were discovered by kayakers in the creek this week. He said testing shows the remains are consistent with "what we're looking for."
