Intoxicated Man Stabs Lincoln Police Officer With Syringe

A 27 year old man is in the hospital after suffering a fall, coming to, and stabbing a police officer in the arm with a syringe. 

Lincoln Police say just before 10:00 Tuesday night, emergency crews responded to a report of a man who had fallen down a flight of stairs in the 5000 block of Bunker Hill. The man was found unconscious at the bottom of the steps. 

As the man regained consciousness, he became combative with medics. The man was intoxicated and sustained injuries from the fall. Officers restrained the man as paramedics administered a sedative with a syringe. 

The man then grabbed the used syringe from the paramedic and stabbed an officer in the left forearm, puncturing the skin and scratching his arm. The man was transported to the hospital and was admitted for his injuries from the fall.
