Arrest Made In Deadly Weekend Carjacking

Police have made an arrest in a deadly weekend car jacking. 

Omaha Police say 37 year old Antwan Lovejoy was arrested Tuesday on charges of First Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. Investigators say Lovejoy was the gunman in the deadly shooting at Bucky’s early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the Bucky’s Convenience Store at 30th and Dodge around 6:00. Authorities say 27 year old Andrew Peek was pumping gas when two men approached him and shot him in the chest before taking his vehicle and driving off.

Peek was transported to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition where he later died.
