Passerby Alerts Resident Of Early Morning House Fire

One person has been displaced after an early morning house fire. 

Crews were called to the home near 24th and Ida just before 5:30 Thursday morning. A passerby reportedly spotted smoke. After evacuating, one resident tried to extinguish the fire with a garden hose.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames coming from the front and side windows of the home. Crews were able to quickly get the flames under control.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The American Red Cross is on hand to help the displaced resident.
