Nebraska Woman Dies After Colorado Hot Air Balloon Ride


A Nebraska woman has died after being injured while riding in a hot air balloon in Colorado on Friday.

Nine passengers and two pilots were reportedly in the balloon when it hit the ground near Hartsel, Colorado. Two female passengers were injured and one of them was taken by Flight for Life to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs.

The woman taken by medical helicopter and later died from her injuries was identified as 73 year old Dana Joyce Haskell of Columbus, NE.

The accident is still under investigation by the FAA, NTSB and the Park County Sheriff's Office.
