An Omaha woman is facing multiple charges after a rollover crash Wednesday evening.
Omaha Police say just after 5:30, officers were called to an injury crash near 29th and Leavenworth. Once on the scene, investigators found that an eastbound Lexus SUV, driven by 36 year old Danielle Gosch, ran a red light at the intersection of 29th Street. The driver of a southbound Infiniti sedan, 24 year old Julia Williams, had the green light and struck the Lexus in the intersection.
The momentum of the crash caused the Lexus to leave the roadway, strike a streetlight, go through a chain link fence and down an embankment next to I-480. The SUV partially rolled as it went down the embankment.
Both Gosch and Williams were transported to the Nebraska Medical Center by Omaha Fire Medics. Gosch is being treated for a fractured pelvis while Williams was treated for neck pain. An uninjured dog that was in the Lexus was turned over to the Nebraska Humane Society for safekeeping.
Disregard for the traffic signal, lack of seat belt use and suspected narcotics use by Gosch are all factors in this crash.
