Man Wanted In Series Of Bank Robberies Arrested

A 25 year old man has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service on several charges related to his involvement in a series of bank robberies.

The charges are related to the bank robberies of the Cornerstone Bank in Murray, Nebraska on March 25, 2017, the Springfield State Bank of Springfield, Nebraska on September 23, 2016 and the attempted bank robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank on May 15 of this year.

"Without the support and collaboration with our law enforcement partners, such as the U.S. Marshals Service, our efforts to apprehend those who would commit these crimes would be even more challenging,” FBI Omaha Field Office Special Agent in Charge, Randall Thysse, said. “The great work of our law enforcement partners is what has led to the success of this arrest and we are confident that we are going to continue to keep our communities safe through our collaborative effort.”

The FBI Great Plains Violent Crime Task Force is responsible for the investigation into the bank robberies that Carney was involved with. The task force was assisted by Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Omaha Police Department Robbery Unit, Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office, and Bellevue Police Department.
