A 23 year old is recovering after being struck by a hit and run driver late Tuesday night.
Omaha Police say around 10:30 officers were called to 24th and J streets for a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle. Investigators say a vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe, was southbound on 24th Street when a pedestrian crossed 24th Street westbound. The pedestrian, 23 year old Ulysses Ambriz, was not in a marked crosswalk and was struck by the southbound vehicle while crossing. The suspect vehicle then continued south after the crash.
Ambriz was transported to Nebraska Medicine with non-life threatening injuries to his arm, chest and back. The crash remains under investigation.
